“I say unto you: one must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give a birth to a dancing star.”

Friedrich Nietzsche

When I am painting, the only thing I care about is to be able to catch the pure essence of things, without equivocation, unnecessary flourish. I want to see beyond the material reality and in order to do that, I discard the accessories we use to keep us on the surface, which are providing a comfortable life and distracting us from paying attention. The concept of material reality as an illusion – the “veil of Maya” – is the basis of my curiosity and my main subject.

For me the task of an artist is to become a filter. We are the mediating element and the information goes through us to achieve its goal so naturally it absorbs what define our individual self. Yet, the exciting part is what connect us; how little we are compare to the universe still we have the sensation of being the whole universe for ourselves.

I get inspiration from the ancient cultures of humankind because I feel they lived their life searching and focusing on that connection and it created harmony in their existence and their art. I take my canvas as a mirror; if I do my job well, it raises questions, doubts, explores emotions, stimulates senses just as much for myself as for everybody who takes the time looking at it.
